Born out of frequently asked questions, most-wanted topics and lessons learned, this course will deliver all the skills you need to break down large education data sets in Excel to provide accurate, tailored and relevant evidence in order to draw accurate conclusions quickly.
Use the right tools for the job, add flare and efficiency to your spreadsheets and have Excel do the work for you.
Finally, you’ll see how to best present and share your conclusions using the charting tools, colour coding and advanced formatting.
This course is all about unleashing the hidden power in Excel and moving towards having Excel do much more of the work for you. Features covered include conditional editing, lookups, calculating levels of progress and automated text editing.
Create your own dashboard, instantly generating a series of graphs for any selected LA and/or school, incorporating the measures that matter to you, from various data sets, combined within a single workbook.
The source data for the charts will be gathered using a series of Vlookups that combine both LA and school level data.
Unlike other lecture/theory-based macro courses out there, this is a very hands-on, project based course. Through demonstration, discussion, and plenty of exercises, you’ll learn to automate repetitive tasks in Excel, creating custom buttons that can open complex functionality to less able colleagues – as well as saving you time. Using macros will not only increase efficiency, but will also help improve data consistency and accuracy.
